We are a voluntary group of Birmingham Parent Carers whose purpose is to become the bridge between services and families and a collective voice representing all members and all disabilities. We aim to build strong and sustainable links between our Local authority, Joint Clinical Commissioning Group and The Children’s Trust.
WHAT IS OUR VISION?
Birmingham is a place where every SEND child & adult is heard & valued, where services are timely & accessible, and where parents & carers work together with professionals to provide positive opportunities for all.
WHAT ARE OUR AIMS?
We aim to build strong and sustainable links between our Local authority, Joint Clinical Commissioning Group and The Children’s Trust. This will be achieved by:
Improving outcomes for SEND children by embedding co-production in all services
Being transparent, clear, approachable, accessible and accountable to our members
Providing 2-way feedback between parent/carers and services
Although we work closely with local services to ensure that they are informed of parents' and carers' opinions, we are completely independent of them. We sit on the SEND Improvement Board to represent parent carers’ views and assist in the development of education, social care and health services.
